It is with huge gratitude to FUSE Network CIC (Norfolk’s premier champion of social enterprise) that I got to develop and test the coupling of 1-2-1 support and mentoring alongside leadership workshops over the winter/spring 24/25.

Five participative and inclusive workshops for up to eight leaders of established social enterprises were coupled with the offer of 1-2-1 support.

The workshops, each one a half day using Pinpoint Facilitation (c) to capture the knowledge in the room, were sketched out in advance. At the end of each workshop I invited the participants to choose the next one from a menu to ensure they got the content they needed.

Three participants signed up for 1-2-1 support and with one person that support is continuing, funded by their organisation. Before this relationship got underway, each person was invited to complete a short online questionnaire so that I could undertake any necessary homework and we could make the best use of their precious time. Topics that came up related to social investment, leadership and governance.

Sometimes things arise in a group workshop setting that benefit from further exploration in a 1-2-1. Like most solutions, one size rarely fits all.
