As part of the Norfolk Leaders’ Club I was delighted to have HR Consultant, Lauren Smith, join me for this, our first Webinar 101.
When I’m out and about speaking with charity and social enterprise leaders, it’s people (along with money) that usually dominate our conversations.
Lauren, having been a trusted HR support of my own, was the perfect person to take the group through the highlights of the Act, with both practical suggestions and an understanding of the application of the Act and what this means in the voluntary sector.
Lauren’s presentation was followed by a Q&A, demonstrating participants’ engagement in the Webinar, along with the opportunity to share their next steps to continue their preparation for the changes.
It felt especially important to hear Lauren’s emphasis on prevention in terms of changes around flexible working and sick pay alongside the importance of clarity, fairness and record-keeping.
