You may not have heard of Re-imagine Norwich, or Doughnut Economics as it was. Having been part of their reading group, as an arts graduate, I’ll admit to finding some of the alternative economics theory quite challenging.
Looking back, this made me well placed to develop an accessible two-page strategy for Re-Imagine Norwich. With passion comes ideas and like many boards, they are volunteers giving up their free time to make the world a better place.
We kicked off in January with a Theory of Change workshop (I happen to think a Theory of Change should be the centrepiece of any strategy document) and from there I was able to glean enough about what they wanted to achieve to refine their mission, their vision, their desired impact and their objectives and priorities over the next year.
Strategies and their accompanying documents should be proportionate to the organisation and with just three pages in total, they have a working document that they can review progress against every quarter without feeling overwhelmed. All whilst trying to achieve their mission of a fairer Norwich that exists within planetary boundaries.
