This one is a really good one and a subject we don’t talk about enough – when is it time to leave your charity or social enterprise?
I’m enormously grateful to Lucy Parish, former CEO of The Feed, for saying so much with so much clarity in her 30 seconds.
My own journey of leaving was different and similar. I know from conversations with leaders that it’s a subject in many hearts and heads. It’s also difficult one to raise when you feel depended on or don’t want to alarm your team.
Those of us supporting leaders, including boards, need to be having these conversations.
Not in hushed guilty tones or because we need a succession plan (which we might), but because it’s important that it’s aired for well-being as much as moving forward with clarity for all.
