For some reason people like to ask what our biggest regrets are. Maybe it’s where the learning is, or maybe they want to know we make mistakes too.
Mistakes a plenty.
Regrets fewer. Maybe because I’m still fairly close to it. But also because I know that I was doing my best in all but impossible circumstances.
Almost all the mistakes I made are because of my biggest regret.
I didn’t nurture my network. Not in a transactional ‘find someone in the room that has a dog’ way. But in a way of true connection, trust and compassionate support.

This is why I’m launching the Norfolk Leaders’ Club.
As yet unfunded, it’s a series of separate but conjoined ideas that have flexibility, fun, connection, learning and community throughout.
I’m no mental health expert, but you don’t need to be to know that leaders of small charities and social enterprises are struggling. I don’t mean the odd sleepless night or a failed funding bid. I mean in their core, day in and day out in a way that impacts throughout their lives, their families and their futures.
We have to give them permission to step back from the day to day, because the day to day will never end.
Whether it’s my podcasts (learning and reflection), Action Learning Sets (community and reflection), the WhatsApp group (community and connection), Webinar 101s (learning) that are coming soon or my new favourite innovation – Sauna & Support – (community and connection), there’s a range of ways to take tiny steps to looking over the horizon, connecting with your peers and taking as much or as little as you need and can give – when you can.
I look forward to embedding this in my work and shaping it with you.
